Bodyrock 2006
This was my 1st show ever. I had no clue what I was doing and chose to do Monica Brandt's Bodyrock in Fairfax, VA. I made up my own diet and workout program based on some research I had done on the Internet. Had a friend, another trainer and figure competitor show me how to pose.
Placed 12th out of 20 in my division. Not bad when you're competing against girls like Alicia Marie! I remember thinking how beautiful she was and then I saw her a few weeks later on the cover of Oxygen Magazine.
Kentucky Muscle 2008
This was the last show I did right before I got pregnant and gained over 90 lbs! By this time I was a little more seasoned and hoping to make it up to a national level show during the next spring.
I absolute love this suit! It was a CJ suit that she made for me after I saw one just like it on Nola Trimble. Too bad we don't wear one pieces any more.
I remember feeling like I looked great; struggled with posing and really struggled with nailing down my "peak." I think I looked better a week before the show than I did the day of. Placed 6th in my division. . .was really hoping for top 5!
Musclemania 2011 and Kentucky Muscle 2011
Here is where I'll track my progress as I prepare for Muslcemania OVC, October 23, 2011 and Kentucky Muscle, November 5, 2011. I began taking weekly pictures at the 10 week mark.
My training for this round of competitions is unlike any I have ever done. My workouts are very quick and sound. I do lots of high intensity quick burst metabolic workouts and my nutrition is cleaner than ever. I am following the Oscillating Macronutrient Eating Pattern and rotate high fat with high carbohydrate days. No bars, hardly any shakes, and no coffee!
For the first time I am seeking professional help on posing and will be attending a Mock Competition camp and posing sessions with IFBB figure pro, Julie Lohre.
Here's my progress:
